So me and Kat were discussing a bracket contests. Whereas this could be used for plot, it could also be a monthly game challenge. I'll explain both scenarios below. First let me explain what a bracket contest is.
Above you see an example of a bracket contest. Notice how there's more lines towards the beginning and less towards the middle. To the left or right of each side, will list every name of the competitors. When one person wins one round, only their name is moved to the next line to compete with the winner of the couple below them and so on and so forth. Eventually it will get down to two names which will compete against each other until there's a clear winner of them all.
For Plot:
Imagine Heroes/Vigilantes vs Criminals/Villains in a bracket contest. Heroes and Vigilantes start on one side of the brackets and compete until there's a clear winner among the heroes and vigilantes side and criminals and villains will compete on the other end of the brackets until there's a clear winner for their side too. Then the one criminal/villain and one hero/vigilante will compete against each other in a final competition. Whichever side wins, will earn a reward for their side. Such as if the criminals/villains win, they could request that all heroes/vigilantes have a cerfew so that they are free to do their crimes at night or certain times during the day without interference from those who entered. If heroes/vigilantes won, they could request something like certain days of the week where no crime was allowed to be committed by those who entered.
For Fun:
For fun, we could also use this bracket contest as a monthly thing, where you enter whatever character/characters you want into the contest and we compete in a game like chess until there's a monthly winner who could win money prizes.
Just ideas thrown out there, if anyone wants to add anything or verify that they like the idea/want to do the idea, then post below.
